After a 2-year break, Sam Smith released a new single entitled “Too Good At Goodbyes”. Smith wrote this song about a recent breakup. He said how the song is going to set the sound of his newest album. “Too Good At Goodbyes” talks about how Smith was getting so good at getting dumped; he had gotten dumped in his latest relationship in 2016 three times, but the 3rd time was the last.  On  September 8, 2017,the 3:21 minute song was released and it is already at the top of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Smith said that his newest album will go deeper than any of his previous music.

Just listening to Sam Smith’s song you can feel the heart break and how Smith is tired of being hurt. If you listen “for the first minute of the song, Smith’s voice is joined only by the sparsest and most basic piano chords, along with some finger-snapping. Eventually a light beat kicks in, then a gospel choir, as if to almost mock Smith’s romantic lamentation by raising it to the level of spiritual battle. Those extra production elements drop out as easily as they drop in, though, until it’s finally just piano and fingers again, then a sobby, a cappella closing line.” (Variety) Listen to the song here.
