Hurricane Irma is currently the largest hurricane to ever be recorded in the Atlantic Ocean. Irma has winds that have gone up to 185 mph and has been labeled a stage five hurricane. The recent Hurricane Harvey was just a stage four, making Irma a serious threat to countries within or around the Atlantic Ocean.  As of now, Irma is set to hit Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Cuba. It is currently unknown if Irma will reach mainland Florida.

Irma has already reached the Caribbean and has already caused catastrophic damage, leaving two people dead in its wake. Florida is currently in a state of emergency and is preparing for heavy flooding. Many Floridian residents are being told to evacuate early to escape the brutality of the storm.
