Chester Charles Bennington, the lead singer to the rock, pop, and metal band Linkin Park, age 41, committed suicide on July 20. leaving his family, band crew, and millions of fans in complete agony and shock. Chester’s family has been taking his death personally and are showing it by making a suicide awareness organization to prevent any more deaths in the ‘Linkin Park family.’

“You’re constantly trying to prove yourself, even after you’ve made it,” Chester had stated, and sadly, even though he was talking about his fans and family, we now realize that he was talking about himself.  Writing songs to show that we aren’t alone, he helped us, but he was calling out for help… and we were too late.

His death was not that big of a surprise if you listen to his last album, which was basically his death note to his loved ones. He hung himself hours before his last album was actually released. So, since their tour was automatically ‘done for’, the band decided to go around and make a memorial for Chester. We have fans blaming themselves for this incident, saying that they should’ve caught it, that they could’ve done something. That is probably what has been eating people the most, and no one really has any words to say to that.  Bennington was close friends with Audioslave and Sound Garden frontman, Chris Cornell, who also killed himself just two months earlier.  “Your talent was pure and unrivaled,” Bennington wrote after Cornell’s death. “Your voice was joy and pain, anger and forgiveness, love and heartache all wrapped into one. I suppose that’s what we all are.” The Linkin Park singer ironically took his own life on Cornell’s birthday. Cornell’s widow, Vicky Cornell, tweeted: “Just when I thought my heart couldn’t break any more…..I love you.”

His widow, Talinda Bennington, is taking his death the hardest, cussing out suicide and posting it all over twitter. Now, not only is she trying to get over her husband’s death, she has to care of her children who are going through the same amount of pain she is.

I guess we can surmise that Chester got ‘Lost In The Echo’ after all.
