Red and Blue Scrimmage Game Kicks Off Football Season
August 22, 2017
The red and blue game last Friday was just a little taste of what’s to come this season. The crowd really showed up, one side of the bleachers was almost full. The way the scrimmage was set up was kind of complicated. Varsity and Junior Varsity played on half of the field and Freshmen on the other side. Scores weren’t really kept, but it was all about practicing plays and so on.
When asked how they did Varsity junior, Trayvion White-Austin said he personally did “good” and that this season was going to be a “great one”. Also when asked how the freshman did said “they were alright.” Varsity Junior, Abrien Painter when asked how he did said, “I think I did amazing. I got where I needed to be and got it in the hole.” He also said that this year was going to be a “decent” one. Varsity junior, Max Lockwood during the time of the game was injured but said, “It was amazing seeing how we are improving more and more everyday.” JV sophomore, Trevor Anderson stated that the scrimmage was basically what they do in practice very day, and he was most impressed by the Varsity’s passing skills. Overall it’s looking like we are going to have a great season. The first Varsity game is scheduled for Friday, August 25 vs Sabino on our Home field at 7pm. Let’s fill the Cougar Cage!
