TUSD’s Superintendent
February 21, 2017
In the TUSD school board’s most recent meeting, Rachael Sedgwick requested that they discuss possibly firing the current superintendent H.T Sanchez. Sedgewick has stated that she doesn’t necessarily want Sanchez to be fired, but right now they don’t have a system to deal with the vacancy should the current superintendent step down or be removed. The meeting will talk about the “employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, demotion, dismissal, salaries, disciplining or resignation” of Sanchez. In recent years the subject of Sanchez’s pay has been all over the headlines, him being the highest paid superintendent in Arizona and the TUSD board members all voting to raise his pay for no good reason. It can be argued that TUSD is under-funded or that TUSD is feeding into the greed of H.T. Sanchez. Only time and the TUSD board will decide the fate of our current superintendent.
