Senior Q & A With Nkengafac Njungeh

Max Becker, Sports Editor

What has been your best memory at Sahuaro?

The tailgates. I really love the Sahuaro Tailgates. When I was a freshman I helped serve cotton candy at them as a part of DECA, as well as participating in the tailgates with orchestra and NHS.

Name one of your favorite teachers at Sahuaro, and why?

Mr. Hislope. He is all over the place, but he knows what he is doing. We liked to joke around last year, he would sometimes jokingly call me a “horrible, evil, demonic beast” in front of my siblings, but then he would always say something nice to me. Even this year we still joke around with each other in the hallway.

What are your plans after high school?

Go to college/ university. My dream is to go to Stanford, but if that doesn’t work out I will go to the U of A. Then medical school and residency, where I hope to study Neurology or Anesthesiology.

What are three fun facts about you?

I love reading, I’m teaching myself how to play the keyboard, and I’m learning my native language, which is Nwe. It’s spoken in Camaroon, where I’m originally from. I was born in Bungwa, in St. Mary’s hospital, and spent a lot of time traveling  in Camaroon before we moved to the United States in 2009. Nwe is very hard to learn because there is no written alphabet.

What’s your motto in life?

La vita e bella. Life is beautiful.

Name three of your idols/ icons?

Doctors, my mom and dad, and Hiccup Haddork III from the movie How to Train Your Dragon. I also really admire Park Jimin from the Korean pop band BTS. His personality and their music have really helped and inspired me, and now I am thinking about studying music as well as medicine in college.

If you could go back and change one thing about your high school career, what would it be?

Nothing, I love how my high school career has been.

Give your freshman-self advice in ten words or less.

Don’t be nervous. Things aren’t going to be that bad.

Where do you see yourself in 15 years?

A doctor at a hospital.

What’s the worst/most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you during at Sahuaro?

I once tried taking a video of a pep rally and 30 minutes in, someone behind me tells me my video wasn’t recording.
