Bill Would Allow For Snakes And Rats To Be Shot In City Limits
February 7, 2017
Bill HB2022 introduced by Arizona Representative Jay Lawrence would allow snakes and rats to be shot within city limits. Of course real bullets cannot be used, snake shots and rat shots are what would be used. Currently, it is illegal to shoot a gun in city limits unless the reason is for self defense. This bill would allow pellets 1.3 millimeters or smaller to shoot and kill snakes and rats. Jay Lawrence says, “This is not a harm animal bill. This is a firearms bill, and it is the position of those who brought it to me that this is a form of ammunition that should be legal.” Right now the bill is engrossed, which means that the bill is being revised before being voted on in the senate.
