Arizona Votes To Raise The Minimum Wage
After the 2016 election, Arizona voted to raise the minimum wage from $8.05 an hour to $12.00 by 2020. It is projected to affect 650,000 Arizonans. People on both the left and the right are nervous. On one hand workers will have extra money to spend but on the other, businesses might have to make some cuts.
Two Cienega Students Killed In Car Accident
Two Cienega students were killed in a car accident early on May 14th. The driver drove over the median and over three lanes of traffic. The students killed were Travis Childress and Madisyn Bertsch, who were dating. The Childress family had just lost Travis’s father that year, so it was especially hard for them. Travis also left behind a band that he and his twin brother played in called House Divided, they played a tribute on May 20th at club XS.
Three People Shot In Phoenix Highway Shootings
Dinya Farmer was driving home on State Route 51 and was being followed by a white pickup truck with three men inside on September 7, 2016. She noticed that she was being followed and called 911. She was tailed all the way from Seventh Avenue and Broadway road to Route 51 while on the phone with 911, Farmer was shot in the head by the pickup then crashed into the Route 51 median. She was immediately rushed to the hospital in critical condition but died later. The pickup has not been found and the shooters motive is also still unknown.
New professional Hockey Team Comes To Tucson
