Charlie Kirk’s casket was flown back to his home state of Arizona by Air Force Two, accompanied by his good friend, Vice President JD Vance. Turning Point USA, the political organization Kirk co-founded, announced over the weekend that Kirk’s memorial service will be held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday, Sept. 21. The doors will open at 8 a.m. and the service will start at 11 a.m. It is free to attend.
Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old loving father of two and a devoted husband, was a combative political debater commonly known around college campuses for engaging in open and peaceful debates. Charlie was fatally shot at Valley Utah University during one of these peaceful open debates. Although Charlie held no real political power, he influenced and educated millions on controversial topics such as immigration, abortion, human rights, and much more. This is allegedly the leading theory as to why Charlie was shot. The alleged suspect has been apprehended and taken into custody. Before Kirk was struck, he was debating with an unidentified student about mass shootings and the role transgender people take on when he was fatally shot.
“Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?” Kirk was asked.
“Too many,” Kirk responded as the crowd roared.
“Do you know how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last 10 years?” Kirk replied, “Counting or not counting gang violence?”
Moments later, Kirk was fatally struck in the neck from a far range.
Charlie was born in 1993 and grew up in Prospect Heights, Illinois, with his loving middle-class family. He knew who he was from a very early age. During his childhood, Kirk became a Boy Scout, and not long after, he reached the Eagle ranking. During his senior year in high school, he raised a popular protest to bring down the price of cookies. When he was 18, he wrote a letter to Breitbart News detailing his concerns about “Liberal Bias Starts in High School Textbooks”. Kirk was then quickly interviewed for the first time on Fox News. He is mostly recognized as the founder of Turning Point USA and the co-founder of the “Falkirk Center for Faith and Liberty” with Jerry Falwell Jr., later renamed the Standing for Freedom Center. This expanded his mission into faith-based political outreach.
Kirk went on to marry Erika Frantzve in 2021, and they had two beautiful children, all while writing and publishing 6 books from 2018-2024. His name remains controversial but unmistakable. He built what became one of the most visible organizations for conservative youths all over the U.S.. He influenced political debates on campuses and helped shape conservative media outreach among younger generations. He has been missed by many worldwide and continues to reach others with his word.
President Trump, along with many other large political figures, will be attending. It’s not yet known where Kirk will be laid to rest after Sunday’s memorial service.
“Never let anyone silence your voice, even when it’s unpopular.”
