Ny’Anza Brown is a senior at Sahuaro High School and aspires to play basketball at a high level. She was born and raised in Oxford, Mississippi and she’s been playing basketball since the 5th grade. Her mom has always supported her in everything she does, which helps her stay on track. She loves basketball and her teammates on her team though it was a big change from where she was originally from. Before Tucson, it was a roller coaster because she had some bad coaches but also had excellent coaches who believed in her and wanted the best for her.
Moving to Tucson, Arizona was a huge adjustment for her and her family. However, she made a lot of good and fun memories with her teammates. Currently, Sahuaro has not experienced a loss yet and she is a huge factor in all of that because she is one of the best players on the basketball team. Ny’Anza averages 8 points every game she plays at Sahuaro High School and she is getting recognition from everywhere. Mainly she is glad she gets to make different memories with her teammates and herself. One of her main core memories was in the summer of 2022 when she dropped 27 points and all she felt was even more love for the sport. Ny’Anza does want to go to college to play basketball. She said, “To play basketball in college would be everything because I want to experience new things and experience that lifestyle.” She has a strong bond with the hoop and the ball and plans to keep her dream alive for as long as possible.
Ny’Anza’s biggest inspiration is Steph Curry because of how he plays and how much she wants to be like him. She enjoys basketball a lot more than she used to because she is a senior now and she is so appreciative of the time she has gotten.
