An abandoned house was completely renovated for a homeless vet in February. More than 50 labor unions, community groups, and businesses spent 6 months renovating a house in Kentucky for veteran Torre Harris to move into. “I feel like a celebrity,” he told Insider.

Nothing can stand in the way of love right? Right! On April 3rd, 2020 Anastasija and Josh Davis of British Columbia, Canada, were on track getting ready for the big day. “Until COVID hit,” Josh said. Not to worry because his friends and family all gathered together to welcome the newlyweds on their own driveway! Even though their wedding didn’t go as planned, it’ll still be a day to remember.

An 11-year old girl from Nebraska has been cheering up her local nursing home residents with her very own friend- Peanut the Pony! Jorja Boller has been a volunteer at her local nursing home, the Good Samaritan Society, for 5 years now and decided to bring Peanut along the way.

The Sand Bar on Tybee Island located in Georgia is known as the “dollar-bill bar” because for years now the customers would write notes on the bills and staple them to the walls of the bar. However, this year Jennifer Knox, owner of the bar, and some volunteers spent days removing the bills and giving them to out-of-work employees. Of course, with help from the bank, they were able to clean off the bills allowing each member to have $600! “It was emotional and beautiful,” Knox told Insider.

Why don’t we lighten the mood a little and take a look at our two upside-down pals! Both Liko and Schooner met their new sloth friend Chico at the Texas State Aquarium. The two dolphins were so overjoyed by the new addition to the team, that they started to imitate Chico- hence the upside-down dolphin…soo cute.

During these times of uncertainty and worry we tend to forget the rules and regulations pertaining to the COVID-19 guidelines. However the amazing nursing staff at Tucson Medical Center wrote a heartfelt letter asking our community for support amid this pandemic. Day-in and day-out these nurses face challenges everyday, and they risk bringing it home to their families and loved ones more than we know. “We’ve been here for you when you need us the most for more than 75 years. Now, we need you,” the letter reads in part. All they ask of us is to not give up so soon, the future is in our hands- so let’s keep ’em clean.
