The University of Virginia (UVA) Men’s Basketball Team, in 2018, lost historically. At the 2018 March Madness Basketball Tournament, UVA made history. They were the first #1 seed to lose in the first round to a #16 seed, the lowest seeding. In 2019, they rebounded significantly, led by Kyle Guy, De’Andre Hunter, Ty Jerome, Kihei Clark, and Mamadi Diakite, who won the 2019 National Championship the year after being embarrassed in the tournament the year before.

The Washington Nationals were 19-31 after 50 games and had a 0.1% chance of winning the World Series. The Nationals then serged and kept on winning. They made the playoffs and barely won the wildcard game, beat the best team in the National League, swept the next team, and made the World Series. Then, they won every road game, a feat never done before, to miraculously win the World Series.

The United States Women’s National Team, is arguably one of the best soccer teams of all time. They arrived to the Women’s World Cup, in France, with high expectations. They dominated and they left with another trophy added to the cabinet.

Simone Biles won her 25th World Medal, two more than the previous record-holder, furthering the debate that Biles could be the best gymnast of all time.

Liverpool was down four goals to zero after the first leg of the Champions League Semi-Final, and then rallied back to win at home to advance to the Final. Liverpool would later go on to win the final, and become champions of Europe.
