Sinema vs. McSally – Too Close to Call
November 7, 2018
In the Arizona senate race, Martha McSally leads Kyrsten Sinema by a slim lead with only 2% of precincts left to count in Pima County. This race is too close to call at this time. Angela Green, the Green Party candidate, might have cost Sinema the senate seat as she received 38,633 votes, which is double the votes that McSally currently leads by. Whoever wins this seat, it will be the first time the state of Arizona has elected a woman for the United States Senate. McSally is very supportive of President Trumps’s policies on immigration and border security. Sinema supports small businesses and wants to invest in creating jobs. She also wants to make higher education more affordable.
Not all the races were close, Governor Doug Ducey won for his second term. Some of the Propositions that were voted on included, Proposition 125, adjustment to elect officials’ and corrections officer’s retirement plans amendment. Proposition 126, Prohibit new or increased taxes on services initiative. Proposition 306, clean election account used and commission rule making measure. Proposition 407, parks and connections bond.
