If you truly love your dog, stop feeding them store-bought bones! These bones could give your dog a serious  illness, and could potentially lead to death. The FDA has received nearly 70 reports of dogs becoming ill related to dog treats. The dog treats are filled with certain substances that cause digestion problems and bleeding from the rectum. So far, fifteen dogs have died immediately after eating these so-called healthy treats. Regular bones are much different than the packaged ones, mostly because butchers don’t give the bones to pet stores. You may not be able to see it, but the bone treat could be moldy, or splintering, cutting up the dogs mouth. Brittle chicken bones should be one of the only bones you feed your pet if you care for their safety. The treats listed to cause the most harm to your dog included “Rib Bones,” “Ham Bones,” “Pork Femur Bones,” and “Smokey Knuckle Bones.”
